Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Luoda harnesses its members' extensive songwriting and performance experience to create songs of profound depth.

Having pledged a lifelong commitment to refining their craft, each member of Luoda brings extraordinary musicality to the band. Members have written, recorded and performed in a staggering array of styles and contexts, spanning Avant-Garde Jazz to Acoustic Folk-Pop to Heavy Metal to Symphonic Orchestral music, to audiences all over the world in jazz clubs, theatres, stadiums, and through television sets.

Luoda's songs are the product of this experience - the collective "hive mind" - where ten extraordinary musicians create and operate at full power.

Nina Ferro

Vocals

Nina is a multi award-winning soul singer, songwriter, session musician and recording artist. She has released several albums including her original songs and songs by her favourite artists. While splitting her time mostly between Melbourne and London, Nina also performs throughout the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.

Nina’s commercial ventures in music are unparalled, as she has performed alongside world-renowned artists including Tony Bennett, Hugh Jackman, Jose Feliciano, Kyle Eastwood, Billy Ocean, Ricky Martin, Chris Botti, Dave Sanborn, Frank McComb, Chick Corea, The Commitments, The Zac Brown Band and Gilbert O’Sullivan, and Australian legends including Jessica Mauboy, Renee Geyer, Vanessa Amorosi, Jon Stevens, Guy Sebastian, Kate Ceberano, John Farnham and The Cat Empire.

Nina’s extensive touring experience has seen her perform worldwide in jazz clubs, theatres, stadiums, and on live and recorded television broadcasts to audiences of billions.

Rocky Loprevite

Vocals

Rocky is a singer and creative contributor to many of Australia's highest profile musical artists. He is a long-time member of pop star Anthony Callea's band and has sung on several of his albums of original music.

Rocky is in high demand commercially, where he regularly appears on recordings and in live performances in clubs, theatres, stadiums and on television with an array of Australia's most well-known entertainers including John Farnham, Olivia Newton John, Vanessa Amorosi and Guy Sebastian.

Rocky has toured extensively throughout Australia and performed gigs regularly in Europe, where he was located for several years.

Josh Kyle

Vocals

Josh is a singer and composer who is passionate about engaging in a varied approach to music making. He has released four albums under his own name including "Possibilities" (2010), "Songs Of Friends" (2014), "I Hear, Here I" (2018) and "Trombone Song Cycle" (2018) - music for four trombones and voice.

Josh has worked extensively with cross-disciplinary art/theatre makers Chamber Made Opera, and RAWCUS (a company of performers with and without disability) and is a long-time member of Gian Slater's improvising vocal ensemble Invenio.

Josh has presented various projects at international jazz festivals in Melbourne, London, Perth and Wangaratta, and at various clubs and theatres around the world.

 

Troy McMillin

Vocals

Troy is a singer and songwriter whose original songs draw mostly from folk and jazz styles. His vocal/piano duo album "Let's Fall In Love" highlights Troy's unique interpretation of standards from the American Songbook, and was released worldwide to critical acclaim.

Commercially, Troy has performed with some of Australia's most well-known artists for major television shows and touring, including several years as a member of Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows, and as a support for Christina Aguilera's Australian stadium tour.

Troy was a member of the Royal Australian Air Force Band for eight years, in which time he had the privilege to sing the Australian National Anthem for ANZAC Day services at the Gallipoli Dawn Service (Turkey) and in France to televised audiences of millions.

Tim Wilson

Saxophone

Tim is a woodwind instrumentalist and as a prolific composer, has eleven CD releases to his name. He has led several jazz-based instrumental ensembles to international critical acclaim and has toured all over the world in various groups.

Tim was a finalist at the National Jazz Awards (2009) and the White Foundation World Saxophone Competition (2004), and in 2017 he won the Australian Jazz Bell Award with Andrea Keller for "Best Australian Instrumental Album".

Tim has also performed commercially with a broad range of artists including Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Hugh Jackman, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, The Australian Art Orchestra, Michael Buble, Bobby Shew, James Morrison, Scott Tinkler and Mike Nock.

David Dower

Synth/keyboard

David Dower is a jazz pianist and composer. In 2024, David’s original project, the David Dower Trio, will play its fifth tour and record its fourth album in Bulgaria with Folklore choirs, a Kavalist, percussionists and local jazz singers, with which David’s compositions fuse jazz, alternative rock, and Bulgarian traditional music.

While based in the UK for several years, David performed extensively throughout Europe at music festivals, jazz clubs and theatres performing his own music and as a session pianist/keyboardist for other musicians.  A performance highlight was at the Bansko International Jazz Festival in 2018, which was broadcast on Bulgarian National Television.

David holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, which focused on solo jazz piano techniques. David is currently based in Melbourne, where he continues to be a prolific composer and performer.

Glenn Cannon

Guitar

Glenn is a guitarist and composer whose jazz/fusion albums "Leverage", "Clockwork" and "Hands" (with co-led acoustic fusion group Avatar) have received international critical acclaim.

Glenn's jazz/fusion group Logic (co-led by saxophonist Tim Wilson) has released six albums including "Self-titled", "The Waiting Game", "Native Strut", "The Hierarchy", "Live 2010" and "One Tribe", and the group has toured extensively throughout Australia, Asia and Europe.

In addition to a prolific output of original music, Glenn performs commercially and has made numerous live and recorded appearances with pop and jazz artists at festivals, in professional theatre, in clubs and on television.

Ashley Smith

Bass

Ashley is a bass player and songwriter whose creative contribution to recordings and live performances span duo format to jazz big band. His compositions have appeared on albums in Latin, jazz, jazz/fusion and pop styles.

Commercially, Ashley has performed extensively in professional musical theatre, in tribute acts and with some of Australia's most well-known entertainers and jazz artists including Bjorn Again, Jersey Boys The Musical, and guitar phenoms Jim Kelly and James Sherlock

Ashley is heavily involved in music education for primary school aged children, where he co-directs his own company "Mad On Music" and at tertiary music level, where he lectures in aural studies, harmony and music history in Bachelor Degree programs.
